Laerling is a 52’ Steel Cruising Ketch being built by the Heritage Marine Foundation in Maldon, Essex as part of their Apprentice Training Scheme; 'Laerling' is Norwegian for Apprentice. she will be fitted with a Hybrid Drive System allowing for silent running and recharging under sail.
Laerling is built in steel for strength and longevity and is intended for world voyaging, her design is inspired by those of Colin Archer, Peter Dickie and Albert Strange.
This robust and sea-kindly modern classic is set to launch in 2022
