The Fairlie 55 was the first production Spirit of Tradition yacht from Fairlie Yachts and was designed to have all the performance of a modern racing yacht with the elegance and beauty of a Fife designed classic. She was conceived very much with Spirit of Tradition regattas in mind and the first Fairlie 55 competes regularly with the Mediterranean Classic fleet.
The Fairlie 55 is a fusion of modern and traditional construction techniques. Her wood/epoxy canoe body hull structure, which weighs in at just over 2t, is engineered to take the loadings from her ‘fin and bulb’ keel and lightweight carbon rig. Alongside all the engineering lies her traditionally built mahogany coachroof and interior which gives her the ambience of a true classic.
She will be admired and envied in any marina or anchorage and will show many of her closest rivals a clean pair of heels.
For those with racing in mind PSDesign are currently developing a performance version, with a smaller lightweight interior and shorter coachroof, coupled with a larger keel bulb and faster foils. Get in touch for details.
A new Fairlie 55 can be commissioned from us at PSDesign.
