Niebla was the first yacht designed for Fairlie Yachts and was launched in 2005. She is a fusion of traditional ideas and modern technology, with a long keeled wooden hull and modern rig. She has a laminated wood/epoxy hull combined with a fine, traditional, solid walnut interior. She is set up for long distance, short handed cruising with a carbon rig and in-boom reefing.

Niebla was conceived to emulate the feel and aesthetics of the classics, the owner had fallen in love with Chicane, designed by Alfred Mylne in 1926, but dreamt of modern sailing performance and easy short handing. The outcome was Niebla, fitted with all modern engineering systems and a light and spacious interior. Niebla remains in the same ownership and has now covered many thousands of miles.
